Sunday Loaf
Sunday Loaf is a site we designed and built for a small bakery in Thirroul, on the coast south of Sydney. One oven, one baker, five mornings each week, and a site built around the only question customers have: is there any left?

Scroll and the site scrolls with you. Or open it live.
The brief
A bakery that opens at seven and closes when the shelves are empty has a problem a normal menu page cannot solve. The croissants are usually gone by ten, the whole cakes need ordering seven days ahead and the bread orders close on Friday at four. Customers drive from Bulli and want to know before they leave. The site needed to show today's stock, show what bakes on which day, make the phone number the main button, and sound like the baker rather than a franchise.
The approach
The whole site is built around a stock board rather than a menu. It carries a time stamp and marks items as gone, so the page is honest about scarcity. Below it, a weekly table shows what bakes Wednesday to Sunday so a visitor can plan a trip. There is no form, no navigation menu and no gallery, just two buttons: put an order in, which dials the phone, and see what bakes when. The type is DM Serif Display with Karla, in a paper, olive and plum palette that feels like a flour sack rather than a cafe chain. The story section is signed by the baker and reads like she wrote it.
The build
A single page. A hero with the hours, the phone number and the tagline. An on the shelf today stock board with prices and gone labels and a time stamp showing when it was last updated. A what bakes when table covering Wednesday to Sunday, including items that need ordering seven days ahead. A from the bench story section. A bread orders close Friday at four section with a call button. Tap to call throughout, with phone ordering only. Footer with the Thirroul address.

Desktop and phone. The phone view is where most visitors will meet it.
