Web design, Sydney

First, the truth about your website.

Twelve checks, ten seconds, no form. The same test we ran on 185 Sydney small business sites, pointed at yours. Then, if the number bothers you, we build the fix, starting with a free mockup of your homepage.

Free. No email, no phone number, no catch. The result is yours either way.

What the twelve points see

Four ways a website quietly loses work.

Every check maps to a moment where a real customer either stays or leaves. This is what we are actually measuring.

01

The three second window

Page speed and page weight. The median site in our survey shipped 209KB of raw code before a single photo loaded, and one sent 4.3MB. On a phone in the suburbs, that is the gap between a page that appears and a customer who gives up.

02

What Google reads first

Titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, your suburb actually named on the page. These are the signals search engines use to decide who gets shown. A third of the sites we checked had a heading problem. One had fourteen main headings.

03

One thumb, in a ute

Sixty percent of the sites we surveyed make a customer type the phone number out by hand. Tap to call and tap to email are two lines of code, and they are the difference between an enquiry and a shrug.

04

When the customer asks AI instead

People now ask ChatGPT for a plumber. Whether AI tools can read and recommend your site is a real ranking surface, and fifteen percent of the sites we checked gave machines nothing to work with at all.

Speed
0.2s

How fast our own home page answers. The survey median site was heavier than it needed to be, and heaviness is the silent killer on mobile.

The Sydney Website Survey, August 2026

We tested 185 Sydney sites. Not one passed all twelve.

Trades, cafes, clinics, studios. We published the method, every number, and our own score, because a studio that grades other people's work should show its report card first.

Real clients, named

Three names, not fifty testimonials.

Every one is a real Sydney small business you can go and find.

If your score bothers you, here is the deal.

01

A free mockup of your actual homepage

Before anything is agreed, we design your homepage, your business, your trade, your suburb, and host it for you to look at. No cost, no obligation. If you do not love it, we part friends.

02

Custom coded, never a template

No WordPress themes, no page builders, no plugin bloat. It is why our own site passes the speed checks most of the 185 failed, and why this page is being judged by the same test it gives yours.

03

Nothing upfront, one monthly amount

Quoted in writing once we have actually seen the job. Hosting and care are part of the deal, not an upsell later, and you deal directly with the team that builds it.

Run it. Keep it. Come back and beat it.

This page remembers your score. Fix something, or pay someone who says they did, then run the check again and watch the number move. When you want the free mockup, one message starts it.

Or open the chat in the corner. Jemima, our AI assistant, runs the check and takes your brief on the spot.
